Congratulations to Matthew Rodgers and Johndy Boyle who have decided to share our Last Man prize of €700 after becoming the last two over the weekend. Matthew and Johndy were on Everton who scored a late winner to beat Sheffield Utd 1-0 on St Stephen’s Day. The other 3 of our final 5 going into the weekend went out as their 3 picks all drew, Southampton against Fulham, Spurs against Wolves and most surprisingly of all Liverpool against a stubborn West Brom at Anfield today. Three men take the plaudits after today’s golf with a number of titles decided after the final counting competition in the Golfer of the Year, the 50/50 competition and the ‘Race to Owey’.
The Christmas hamper is always a competition we eagerly await as it brings the curtain down on the season’s qualifying events and going home with the hamper is Joseph Gillespie with a super score of 39 Pts in tough conditions on Saturday. Joseph already had his spot on the boat booked from an earlier win but will go into the finale day on St Stephen’s Day full of confidence. Second, third and fourth all came from Sunday where conditions were very breezy with several nasty showers thrown in for good measure. Michael Gallagher was second on a break of tie with 37 Pts. Pete Duffy was third also with 37 Pts and this score confirmed Pete’s win in the 50/50 competition with 3 great scores of 43 Pts, 43 Pts & 37 Pts over 6 weeks for a 123 Pts total. Fourth today and great to see him back in the prizes was Johnny Gallagher with 35 Pts. The 9’s went to Michael Mc Fadden and Chris McGonagle, both with 19 Pts.
Chris also secured Golfer of the Year (Sponsored by Rosses Floors & Doors) for a second year running so a massive congratulations to him on a super achievement. Well done to all our prize winners and thanks to Liam and all at Supervalu Dungloe for their continued support and sponsorship.
