Signature Hole

All about our golf course

Our 9-hole Golf Course is one of the most picturesque 9-hole links, (Par 68) to be found in Ireland. The course first opened on 29th June 1986. The land on which the course was built was leased from the then Bishop of Raphoe, Dr. Seamus Hegarty. Some years later the land passed into the owenership of our present landlord, Paddy Forker. A new clubhouse was built two years after the course first opened. Cruit became one of the first Golf Clubs in Ireland to offer full membership to ladies. In 1994 Cruit Island Golf Club became the first club in Ireland to elect a lady President, when Eileen Oglesby became president. Our clubhouse has been refurbished recently and our course continues to improve all the time ,offering a great challenge to all golfers, whatever their handicap.
